Nose Manual
The Nose Manual: Balancing on the Front
The Nose Manual is the counterpart to the Manual, where you balance the skateboard on its two front wheels. It's an excellent trick for refining body control and board feel.

🎯 Challenge your balance on the Nose!
This guide will detail how to position your feet and body for a stable and consistent Nose Manual.
👟 Foot Positioning
Front Foot
Your dominant foot should be in the curve of the nose with your heel over the edge and slightly turned inwards. This foot will control pressure and balance.

Back Foot
Your back foot should be on or near the rear truck bolts. It is used to control balance and gently push down to end the trick.

Start and Position
Start rolling forward with your front foot on the nose and knees bent. Shift your weight from the center of the board onto your front foot, gently pressing the nose to lift the tail.
Balance and Control
Keep your mass over the front wheels. Extend your arms out to the sides and make subtle torso/hip adjustments to compensate for imbalances. Your back foot can apply gentle pressure for balance.
Ending
To end, gently push down with your back foot to bring the tail back to the ground, shifting your weight back to the center of the board.
Golden Tip!
Master the balance while stationary before trying it moving! Use a wall or rail for side support, get into nose manual position and practice the micro weight adjustments. This builds muscle memory without the risk of falling.
⚠️ Common Mistakes
Falling backward - Weight is not centered over the nose; lean more forward.
Nose hitting the ground - Not applying enough pressure on the nose or weight is too far back.
Losing balance when going onto obstacles - Don't ollie too high, just enough to get up the ledge and land in a nose manual.
