Kickflip
The first flip trick every skateboarder learns.
The kickflip is a foundational flip trick where the board spins along its longitudinal axis after you 'kick' it with your front foot. It's a benchmark for progressing into more advanced tricks.

🎯 Unlock the flip!
Discover the precise foot flick and timing needed to make your board spin and land perfectly.
👟 Foot Positioning
1. Front Foot Position
Place your front foot behind the front bolts at a 45-degree angle. Your toes should be pointing towards the nose of the board. This angle is crucial for the flick.

2. Back Foot Position
Place the ball of your back foot on the center of the tail. This allows for a solid pop straight down, which is essential for getting the board high enough to flip.

Pop
Pop the tail down hard, similar to an ollie, while keeping your shoulders parallel to the board.
Flick
As the board comes up, slide your front foot up and towards the heel-side edge of the nose. The "flick" is a quick kick out and away from the board, which initiates the flip.
Catch
Watch the board rotate. Once it has completed one full rotation, catch it with your feet, ideally with your back foot first, over the bolts.
Land
Land with your feet over the bolts and bend your knees to absorb the impact.
Golden Tip!
Practice the flick motion while holding onto something for balance. This helps build the muscle memory without the fear of falling.
⚠️ Common Mistakes
Board flies in front of you: You are likely leaning back too much. Keep your weight centered over the board.
Board does not fully rotate: Your flick might be too weak or not directed correctly. Flick more off the side of the nose.
Board flips but lands upside down: This is a timing issue. Try to flick a bit later or faster.
Chicken foot (landing with only one foot on the board): This is a commitment issue. Try to consciously keep both feet above the board.
