Crooked Grind
A pinched nosegrind.
A Crooked Grind, or "Crook", is a variation of the nosegrind where the front truck grinds on the ledge at an angle, with the nose of the board pointing away from the ledge. It is a very technical and stylish grind.

Learning Crooked Grinds will set you apart at the skatepark and demonstrates a high level of precision and control.
👟 Foot Positioning
1. Front Foot Position
Your front foot should be on or near the front bolts, ready to apply pressure and lock in the grind.
2. Back Foot Position
Your back foot is on the tail, ready to pop and guide the board into the angled position.
📈 Detailed Crooked Grind Execution

Approach
Approach the ledge at a slight angle, similar to a nosegrind.
Ollie and Aim
Ollie towards the ledge, aiming to land with your front truck on the edge at an angle.
Lock and Slide
Lock your front truck on the ledge so it is "pinched" and slide. Keep your weight on your front foot and use your back foot to maintain the angle.
Come Off
As you reach the end, pop out by pushing on your tail or simply turn your truck to come off the ledge.
Golden Tip!
The key is the "pinch". You want to feel the truck lock into place at that specific angle.
⚠️ Common Mistakes
Slipping into a nosegrind: You need to maintain the angle with your back foot and body position.
Slipping off the ledge: Apply more pressure on your front foot to stay locked in.
Not getting the right angle: This comes with practice. Focus on the entry.
