Bluntslide
The Next Level Tailslide
A Bluntslide is a more advanced version of a tailslide. The skater ollies over the edge of the obstacle and lands with both the tail and the back wheels on top of the ledge, sliding along it.
Tailslide, Ollie high
🎯 Get Blunt
Landing a Bluntslide is a true mark of an advanced ledge skater. It requires a high ollie, precision, and excellent balance, making it a very respected and impressive trick.
👟 Foot Positioning
1. Front Foot Position
Your front foot is set up like a regular ollie, maybe a bit further back to help with the pop over the ledge.
2. Back Foot Position
Your back foot is right on the tip of the tail, ready for a powerful pop to get you up and over the ledge.

Approach
Approach the ledge nearly parallel, but with a very slight angle towards it. You need enough speed to clear the ledge and slide.
Pop Over
Ollie high and aim to get your back wheels and tail completely over the edge of the ledge.
Lock and Slide
Land with your tail and back wheels on top of the ledge. Keep your weight on your back foot and lean back slightly to maintain the slide. Your front truck will be hanging down.
Exit
To exit, you can either pop out back into the ramp/street or come off the end of the ledge. A small pop or shove with your back foot will help you land straight.
Golden Tip!
The key is the ollie. You have to pop high enough to clear the ledge entirely with your back truck. Think about lifting your knees up to your chest.
⚠️ Common Mistakes
Landing in a tailslide instead: You need to pop higher and further over the ledge.
Wheels getting stuck on top: This is called "getting blunted". It means you didn't have enough forward momentum or the ledge isn't slick enough. More speed and wax are needed.
Losing balance and falling backwards: Keep your shoulders aligned with the ledge and use your arms to balance.
