Backside Bigspin
The Classic Bigspin
The Backside Bigspin is the most common form of the Bigspin. It involves a backside 360 pop shove-it while the rider performs a backside 180-degree body rotation. The board spins behind the rider, making it feel more natural for many.

👟 Foot Positioning

Wind Up and Scoop
Wind up your shoulders for the backside 180 turn. Pop and give a strong scoop backwards with your back foot.
Rotate and Follow
As the board spins, turn your body 180 degrees backside. The board will rotate behind you, so you need to follow it with your body.
Catch and Land
Catch the board with your front foot as it comes around, and place your back foot on as you complete the rotation. Land switch.
Golden Tip!
The scoop and the body turn should be one fluid motion. Don't think of them as two separate steps. The power of the scoop is what makes the board spin the full 360.
⚠️ Common Mistakes
Board only doing a 180 shove-it: You need to scoop harder and more deliberately.
Body not turning the full 180: Lead with your head and shoulders.
Landing with your feet too close together: Try to catch the board over the bolts for a stable landing.
